Terms of use
Draft for the minimum viable product. Last updated: 27 October 2026. To be reviewed by a solicitor before charging users.
1. What Vecta is
Vecta is an information and modelling tool. It calculates figures from the information and assumptions you provide, using published UK tax rules for England, Wales and Northern Ireland. It is provided by [COMPANY NAME] Ltd.
2. What Vecta is not
Vecta does not provide financial, investment, pension, tax, accounting or legal advice, and we are not authorised or regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. Nothing in the service is a recommendation to buy, sell, transfer or hold any product, or to take any course of action. Options shown are general and calculated from your figures; whether any is right for you depends on circumstances we do not assess.
3. Your responsibilities
- Check that the figures you enter, and any figures the assistant proposes, are correct before you confirm them.
- Get advice from a regulated financial adviser, or a qualified accountant, before making significant decisions.
- Keep your own backup using the export feature; data stored in your browser can be lost.
4. Accuracy
We take care to keep calculations correct and rules current, but projections are estimates, not guarantees. Tax rules change, and real investment returns, inflation and your circumstances will differ from the assumptions.
5. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for losses arising from decisions made using the service. Our total liability to you is limited to the amount you have paid us in the 12 months before the claim (or £100 if you have paid nothing). Nothing limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
6. Acceptable use
Don't misuse the service, attempt to access other users' data, overload the assistant, or upload unlawful content.
7. Changes and law
We may update these terms; the date above shows the latest version. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
